Hot Day! Hot Read!

“Harm no human…”

Hello Everyone,

Happy Tuesday!  This book is part of a series that can be dark. It can be light and fun. The feels are real. I’m speaking of the Dark-Hunter series. If you are not familiar with the Dark-Hunters, what have you been doing with your life? Really!

It is 117 degrees Fahrenheit today in Arizona; the perfect day to write about a hot book while sitting in air conditioning. Sherrilyn Kenyon is my favorite author. I didn’t think I would have one because I have read so many books by some of the most talented authors ever (Nora Roberts, Jayne Ann Krentz, Johanna Lindsey, just to name a few), so trying to pick just one was almost impossible. I say almost because I then discovered Sherrilyn Kenyon, quite by accident. Continue reading

T.G.I Frappe Friday pt 2

Dash-“I’ll call you in a few hours.”  Amelia-“Promise?…If you don’t, you’ll wreck my world”. By that night, his truck is gone. His word is worthless. And my heart is broken.

Hello Everyone,

Let me start by saying I have read a few books by this newly discovered author and have thoroughly enjoyed them. But for some reason, I just didn’t enjoy this one. I will endeavor to articulate why I didn’t enjoy this book. Just know it will be hard.

the boy next door

So, I enjoyed the first book in Ella James’ Off-Limits series Crown Jewels. And I enjoyed her erotic fairy tale anthology Hansel, Red & Wolfe and Beast (can you say steamy?). Sloth was deep (the feels man, the feels-sigh) and I am currently reading the first book in the A Love Inc. series Selling Scarlett, Continue reading

T.G.I Frappe Friday

“The killer waited patiently for the target to emerge from the cabin…”

Hello Everyone,

When the above quote is the first sentence you read, you know you are in for a good read. A very good read. Your only option at that point is to sit back and enjoy the ride. That is exactly what I did. When the ride was over, I emerged to the bright Arizona sunshine after an all nighter, sad that my visit to Seattle was now over. That’s what a Jayne Ann Krentz book will do to you…that’s what this book will do to you.

when all the girls have gone

I mentioned in my intro blog that I am a huge Jayne Ann Krentz fan. Continue reading

Frappe Friday

“You should have trusted me enough to believe I would not have betrayed you. Without trust, love is nothing and you proved what we shared was nothing.” Virgil

Hello Everyone,

Welcome back to another Frappe Friday. Today’s review is from an author I enjoyed years ago and have recently rediscovered. I loved her Westmoreland series and now I m embroiled in her Bachelors in Demand series with Bachelor Unforgiving.bachelor unforgiving

Let me start by saying, I really, really dislike Continue reading

Sweet Tea Thursday!

RESENTMENT (n:) The act of hating-no, f*#king loathing Dean Collins. (Yes, I’m well aware that’s not the actual definition, but it might as well be…).

Hello Everyone,

I wasn’t planning to write today, but I just finished re-reading a book that was as excellent the second time as it was the first and I just had to talk about it. That is Nicole London’s Resentment.resentment

I first came across Nicole after reading an excerpt included in Sincerely, Carter by Whitney G. It turns out that Nicole and Whitney are best friends. Continue reading

Frappe Friday part 2

“I turned to my left to look at Ari again, hoping that the past few minutes were a mistake-that I was in the middle of a strange daydream. That there as no way I could be this attracted to her right now-no way I could want to tell her to pull over so I could taste her lips. Both sets of them.”- Carter

Hello everyone! Welcome to Frappe Friday part 2.

I intended to only post one review, but I have to tell you about this other book I am absolutely crazy about. The whole best friends turned lovers does something to my heart and other body parts…erm…hmm mmm. Sorry!

Sincerely, Carter-WG

Sincerely Carter is as previously stated, a best friends turned lovers story. This is the very first book I read from new indie author Whitney G. I can absolutely say, this is not the last book I read from her. I am one of her F.L.Y’s (effing love you). Continue reading

Frappe Friday!

“Phillip had a sick feeling in his heart as he tried to imagine what his life would be without Christina.”

Hello everyone! I am sitting here enjoying a caramel frappe from McDonald’s thinking that I should do this every Friday; so I will. Thus, welcome to the new “Frappe Fridays.”

Today I will be reviewing the very first romance novel I have ever read. Captive Bride-JL

Written in 1977, this was not only my first romance novel, but also my first exposure to historical romance featuring a sheikh (sheikh’s will come to be one of my favorite type of heroes…sigh). Continue reading

First blog post

Hello everyone! My name is Oletha and I am an avid Romance reader.  I have read thousands of books. I have a lot of people asking what the books I have read or am reading are about and if they are any good.  I also have people asking for recommendations. Despite all of that, I rarely get the chance to wax poetic about all of the good books I have read.

That is what I want to accomplish with this blog. I want to share my love of romance novels with like minded people. I want to have discussions about books I liked and didn’t like and how I came to that conclusion.  I want to recommend books and have books recommended to me.

As I said, I love romance novels; whether they are  romantic suspense, horror, historical or mysteries. I don’t like sci-fi or westerns unless there is romance. I have no interest in non-fiction, but I adore the paranormal. Books by authors like Jayne Ann Krentz are like drugs to me. I admit I have a problem.

I started reading romance novels in my sophomore year of high school, when my English teacher brought in books from the publishing company her husband worked to the classroom. The books didn’t have covers, but that didn’t matter. I read so many so quickly, that my teacher started giving me first choice of books. Needless to say it was love at first read. Because of the number of books read, I have been told I have a knack for picking out good reads. I am a diva when it comes to the novels I read. I like a certain writing style and I refuse to compromise on that. I like what I like.

So join me in the madness that is my obsessive love of romance novels. I will be reviewing the first romance novel I have ever read which happens to be a historical romance.

Read you later! (Sorry for the lame puns, I hope they get better.)
